Subject: RE: Questions for Global Town HallIt’s all because of the way God made bananas curved. You see, back in the days when we just stepping up from monkeys to semi-humans we started to figure stuff out and ask questions – the first one of which was: “why are bananas curved like that?”. As with all questions for which technology has yet to give an answer, opinions varied. As these early semi-humans started on their way to an explanation ideological schools formed regarding this big issue. This laid the groundwork for the common “us/them” mentality. The start of all our woes.

So I’m on my third bar of chocolate today. My colleague walks in: “That’s like your 4th bar today! …[snip]… You’re quirky!”
I always wondered how exactly one becomes an idiosyncrasy. Now I, and you, know I just eat 3 bars of chocolate on any given day.
What is The Truth?

The following post on The Daily WTF caught my eye:
The problem with “logic” is that it makes things out to be nothing but simple dualities. Proponents of logic want us to believe that everything is true or false, black or white, yes or no, paper or plastic, etc. Thankfully, there are some among us, like Mark Harrison’s colleague, who are not afraid to stand up to these logic advocates and shout “no, I will not succumb to your false dichotomies!” Today, I think we all should salute those few brave people …

The bargain hunting season has just stated. Some stores, Gucci in this case, just seem to get all the early birds.

Here’s a little story I found in my in-box this morning.
A man is walking around in Central park - New York- when he suddenly sees this pitbull attacking a little girl.
The man runs towards the girl and begins to fight the dog. In the end he succeeds in taking out the dog: the man saved the little girl’s life.
A cop witnessed the whole thing. He walks up to the man and says: Sir, you are a true hero! Tommorrow, the headlines will read “Heroic New-yorker saves girl’s life!”.
The man says: but, I’m not a New Yorker…
Well than, the cop says, the headlines will read “Heroic American saves girl’s life!”
I’m not an american either, replies the man.
Well, what are you then, asks the cop.
“I’m from Irak” answers the man.
The next day, the headlines read: “Muslim fundamentalist kills American dog!”
While I can be found for such humour I have to admit that it also portrays an uncomfortable reality of the post 9-11 America. And that’s sad.
